Their goal is to apply the best practices of both journalism and scholarship and to increase public knowledge and understanding.
  • Politifact.com – A project of the St. Petersburg Times to help you find the truth in American politics. Reporters and editors from the Times fact-check statements by Members of Congress, the White House, lobbyists, and interest groups and rate them on our Truth-O-Meter.
  • Snopes.com – One of the best online resources that debunks urban legends and rumors on a huge number of topics. It’s run by Barbara and David P. Mikkelson, who established this website in 1995.
